At first thought, there is nothing strange about using a dropper (or, as some call it, pipettes). I have used them before, and I knew how they worked. But for some reason, I did not expect to see one there. And do you know what's funny? Now that pipettes are all I’m used to, I can see a change happening.
The latest CBD oil I bought didn't come with a dropper. Instead, it came with a spray. So how do I feel about it? Pretty good, I must say.
Sprays are easier to apply, less fragile, and more hygienic. But there is one important question that needs to be answered - are the two the same, or do we have to give up some benefits of CBD for the increased comfort of application? Let's find out.
There are some differences: application & dosage
Is the experience of using CBD drops and CBD spray different? Absolutely!
CBD Spray - pump it up
Using a CBD spray is very easy. A CBD spray works the same way as a good, old breath freshener. You open your mouth, raise your tongue, press the pump, and voilà, you have just made your body very happy!
Remember that for CBD to work, you need to keep it under your tongue for at least 30 seconds. You can apply anything between 1 and 3 pumps, up to 3 times a day.
CBD Dropper - drop it down
If you have been using CBD oil for a while, then you know the drill. First, you squeeze the top of the dropper to suck in some oil, then you carefully direct the dropper under your tongue, squeeze some drops out, and wait 30-60 seconds. While the process itself isn't very complicated, using a dropper isn't perfect.
First of all, dosing can be challenging. An inexperienced user might accidentally place one or two drops more than intended. While this is not a huge problem (as you can not overdose on CBD), nobody likes to apply the wrong dose by accident.
Second of all, the tongue should never touch the end of the dropper. You don't want to introduce any germs into your oil. And trust me, you don't drop it on your bathroom floor! That glass is hard to clean.
Some things remain the same
While sprays and drops provide a different application experience, the effectiveness of the CBD remains exactly the same. CBD drops and CBD spray will both provide your body with the same level of support.
So which one should you choose?
With the effects of both applications being the same, the only thing that really matters is your personal preference.
While many people are switching to sprays due to their ease of application and higher hygiene, we still have plenty of customers who love CBD drops.
For this very reason, we leave the choice up to you.
We are for sprays!
Long time the dropper had been the choice number 1 as an applicator. Due to the many advantages of the sprayer and the fact that CBD oil isn't recognized as a nutritional supplement in many countries, we are selling our oils with a spray applicator. Many CBD producers following this example.
Myths & truths - did you know?
CBD drops and CBD sprays have the same effects, but what are those effects? Let's look at some common beliefs on the effects of CBD and separate the facts from the fiction.
CBD drops can help you ease pain
Due to missing research, we can't say anything about it even though there had been smaller studies already.
CBD spray is helping people with dementia
More research still needs to be done to fully understand the impact CBD can have on people with dementia.
Currently, there is no scientific evidence that shows CBD can prevent, slow down, or reverse dementia. What is sure ist, that CBD oil got some calming and relaxing properties.
Please, note that any patient with dementia should consult their doctor before including CBD oil in their diet.
CBD drops can help you sleep better
Poor quality of sleep is one of the primary motivations for purchasing CBD. And that's not a surprise.
Maybe CBD oil helps. It’s because CBD supports your endocannabinoid system keep your body in balance, making it easier to fall, and stay asleep!
CBD drops can be useful for pets
Pets can feel anxious, scared, worried and suffer from pain just like us.
With the lockdown potentially ending soon, pet owners will be spending less time at home, and their animals might feel anxious or distressed.
According to a survey done in collaboration with veterinarians, many of their clients claimed that CBD helped ease their pets pain, as well as anxiety symptoms.
Remember to do your research before giving CBD to your pet, as different animals require different doses of CBD. It always needs to be a specialised oil for the animal. Cats are even in danger applying CBD oil that has been produced for humans.
CBD spray is dangerous
Has anybody ever told you that CBD is dangerous? If so, they probably meant THC. THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant known for its "euphoric" effects. While no cases of THC overdose have ever been recorded, THC can impact our ability to make decisions and react quickly. This is not the case with CBD.
CBD doesn't impair your judgment in even the slightest, so you can apply it safely at any time of the day or night, no matter what you're doing.
One thing to remember - skip CBD if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, as not enough research has been done on CBD application in those cases.
